About the Guild


The Santa Barbara Fiber Arts Guild meets on the first Saturday of each month from 9:30 until 12 p.m. at the: Presidio Springs Community Center, 721 Laguna St. (Between De la Guerra and Ortega. Off street parking is available in the lot directly across Laguna Street. Drop-offs only in the lot next to the community center.).

Members bring refreshments and socialize before enjoying a short business meeting followed by a program related to fiber arts. Frequent workshops and field trips are offered. Our group has a membership of approximately 110 active in a variety of fiber arts. Programs and workshop topics may include weaving, spinning, knitting, basketry, paper making, dyeing, felting, silk printing, sewing, and many additional fiber arts subjects.

This guild shall be a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of its members in the development and appreciation of all fiber arts.


LaVelle Ure & Lucilla Warren Scholarship Fund

The LaVelle Ure Memorial Educational Grant Fund was established in 2004 to honor LaVelle’s contributions to the world of fiber arts by supporting further education of other fiber artists and crafts persons. The awards are educational grants for short-term or in-depth continuing education in those fields. The Education Grant Fund is supported by donations, and from the proceeds of the Fiber Frenzy held in the Fall in odd numbered years. Dowload application
